Saiz resigns from head cheer coaching position

Sterling College Athletics and Vice President for Athletics Justin Morris announced that head cheer coach Jessica Saiz has resigned. Saiz took the program back over as the head coach in the spring of 2021 after a previous stint of coaching from 2011-2017.

"We would like to thank Coach Saiz for her time and dedication to growing our cheer program. We wish her and her family all the best moving forward," Morris said.

Saiz will be moving over the district office at USD 376 as the treasurer and administrative assistant.

Throughout her time at the helm of Sterling College cheer, she has brought back the school fight song in tantum with a sideline dance, grew the squad from two to 26 cheerleaders and her team bringing home the KCAC Team of Character Award in 2024.

However, her proudest accomplishment at Sterling was being baptized in the pool with her husband and children.

"I am thankful to Sterling College for always allowing me to put my family first," Saiz said. "I will miss the people, the Sterling College community and Warrior game days."

Saiz will stay on staff until August 31. A national search for the next head cheer coach is underway.
