Warriors win spring opener
The Sterling College men's tennis team traveled down to Austin College on Saturday, Feb 15. to kick off their season with a decided 7-0 victory over the Kangaroos.
Pedro Felipoff had a strong start in the no. one singles position where he beat Austin's Trey Salyer 6-3, 6-0. Adam King backed him up from the no. two singles spot with an easy 6-1, 6-0 win over Patrick Fenner.
Yohann Molle represented the Warriors in the no. three singles position with a 6-0, 6-0 win over the Kangaroo's Cruz Rocha while Nicholas Sprenger Sampaio held down the no. four spot with a decided 6-0, 6-0 victory over Joel Colunga.
Kyosuke Ishida and Patricio Cifuentes Aguilar won the no. five and no. six singles matches by default.
In the doubles matches, Louis Boisdenghien and King beat Fenner and Salyer in the no. match 6-2. In the no. two match, David Garces and Cifuentes Aguilar handedly handled Rocha and Colunga with a 6-0 victory.
Robin Baransi and Molle won the no. three doubles match by default.
