Sterling gets the win over University of the Ozarks
In an intense match up, Sterling College men's tennis got the 4-3 win against NCAA DIII University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. on Thursday, March 20.
In doubles play, Pedro Felipoff and Angel Marin battled to get the 7-5 win in the no. 1 doubles match against Sergio Munoz Sevilla and Perry Guidry. In no. 2 doubles play, Robin Baransi and Nicholas Sprenger Sampaio lost to Ryan Rosalin and Zachary Hanson 6-3. Alexandre Gaboardi and Rubem Bogomoltz faced Griffin Huckelbury and Joshua Wilde in the no. 3 match and lost 6-3.
Sterling continued to battle in singles play. Yohann Molle took on Munoz Sevilla in the no. 1 singles match losing 6-2, 6-4. In the no. 2 singles match, Louis Boisdenghien got the win over Wilde, 6-2, 6-4.
Kazuki Fukushima played a tight match against Hanson in the no. 3 match winning the first set 6-2 and losing the second set, 6-3, and the tie breaker. Kyosuke Ishida flipped the script in the no. 4 singles contest, losing the first set 6-3 before coming back to win the second set, 6-4, and the tie breaker.
Marin and Angel Garces got big wins for the Warriors in the no. 5 and no. 6 matches, respectively. Marin beat Rosalin 6-3, 6-2 while Garces beat Huckelbury 6-1, 6-2.
