Sterling sweeps Avila in Kansas City

Sterling College men's tennis traveled to Kansas City, Mo. and got the commanding 7-0 win over Avila University.

The Warriors started by sweeping the doubles matches, not allowing the Eagles to win a single game in any of the three matches. The duo of Ishida Kyosuke and Kazuki Fukushima beat Drue Coen and Robert Davies 6-0 in the no. 1 doubles play. In no. 2 doubles play, Louis Boisdenghien and Adam King beat Caige Bjornstad and Brady Darr, 6-0. Robin Baransi and Abhyudit Nagar beat Dominic Lunn and Aidan Vandegrift 6-0 in the no. 3 doubles match.

Sterling continued to dominate in singles play. Louis Boisdenghien represented Sterling in the no. 1 singles match beating Coen 6-0, 6-2. In the no. 2 singles contest, King went 6-0, 6-0 over Bjornstad. Angel Marin beat Darr 6-1, 6-0 in the no. 3 singles contest.

Rubem Bogomoltz got the 6-0, 6-0 win over Davies in the no. 4 singles match while Baransi went 6-0, 6-1 to get the win over Lunn in the no. 5 singles contest. Nagar finished out meet in the no. 6 singles spot getting the 6-1, 6-0 win over Vandegrift.

Sterling's next match will be on Friday, April 18 against Southwestern College in Sterling, Kan.
