Warriors compete at Concordia Early Bird Invitational
SEWARD, Neb. – A handful of Warriors competed at the Concordia Early Bird Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 13.
For the men, Blake Robertson led the way for Sterling in the throws finishing fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 17.26m (56-07.5) and 14th in the shot put with a mark of 13.71m (44-11.75). Malachi Bell and Brayden Kermode also competed in the weight throw placing 24th and 26th with marks of 13.11m (43-00.25) and 12.69m (41-07.75), respectively.
Kermode had a personal best performance in the shot put where he threw 11.16m (36-07.5) to finish 31st. Also competing the shot put were Bell and Keaton Miller. Bell placed 16th with a throw of 12.98m (42-07) and Miller finished 26th with a mark of 11.93m (39-01.75).
Charles Jones represented the Warriors in the jumps, competing in the long jump where he finished 8th with a mark of 6.72m (22-00.75).
On the track, Nazar Haydon made his indoor debut for the Warriors in the sprints. He competed in the 60m dash where he finished 36th with a time of 7.44 and he competed in the 200m dash where he finished 28th with a time of 24.07. Haydon ran the 60m hurdles for the first time in his career, running an 11.08 to place 20th.
For the women, Briana Croisant competed for Sterling in the throws. She placed 28th in the shot put with a throw of 9.64m (31-07.5) and finished 37th in the weight throw with a mark of 10.64m (34-11).
The Warriors will be back in action at the Friends First Chance Qualifier in Wichita, Kan. on Saturday, Jan. 17.
