Six Warriors run personal bests at DBU Old Glory Gallup

The Sterling College cross country team traveled down to Dallas, Texas on Saturday, Oct. 11 to compete in the Dallas Baptist University (DBU) Old Glory Gallup. The men's team had six runners post personal best times and were able to qualify for the NCCAA National Championship.

The men finished 31st out of 40 teams, with over 400 runners competing in the race while the women saw just under 350 athletes compete in the race.

Daryen Jefferson led the Warriors through the course, running the second fastest time in school history posting a time of 26:35.91 and placed 158th. Jacob Tonne was the no. 2 runner for Sterling with a time of 27:55.60 to place 262nd.

The no. 3 and 4 runners for the Warriors were Camyrn Gantt and Jace Gaston running times of 28:27.51 and 28:56.53 to finish 292nd and 311th, respectively. Sterling's fifth runner was Ian Chrisler, coming in with a time of 29:13.93 to place 318th

Wesley Brantley closed out the field with a time of 31:31.79 to finish 381st.

On the women's side, Lydia Nelson let the Lady Warriors with a time of 23:00.77 to place 277th. Claire Miller posted a time of 25:05.28 to finish 318th and Audrey Blake was right behind her with a time of 25:47.76 to finish 324th.

The Warriors will be back in action at the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic in Ashland, Neb. On Saturday, Oct. 25.
