Cunningham named KCAC Player of the Week
WICHITA, Kan. — Maddy Meierer of No. 24 Evangel University and Mariah Cunningham of Sterling College have earned the KCAC Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from March 24-30 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.

Cunningham had a big week at bat for the Lady Warriors. Throughout the week, she turned 14 at-bats into 10 hits, including one double, two triples and a home run. She totaled seven RBIs and three runs. In the second game against Avila, she was one double away from hitting the cycle, recording a single, a triple and a home run. Cunningham was also huge for Sterling defensively, turning a total of five touches from left field into four putouts and an assist. In four games on the week, she had an on-base percentage of .714 and a slugging percentage of 1.286.

Pitcher of the Week
Maddy Meierer - #24 Evangel University

Meierer continued her stellar sophomore season this week, going 2-0 in the circle and earning a save in game two against Friends. Maddy finished with 15.1 innings pitched, struck out 15 batters, and allowed just three hits combined last week to continue to rise up the Valor record book, moving to ninth all-time with 30 wins in the circle in her second year (30-6). This marks the second time this season Meierer has been named the KCAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.
