Lady Warriors get 7-0 win over University of Ozarks

Sterling College women's tennis had a dominant 7-0 victory against NCAA DIII University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Ark. on Thursday, March 20.

The Lady Warriors started by sweeping the doubles matches. Giovana Gaboardi and Nadia Margaritov competed in the no. 1 doubles match taking on Kelsey Ground and Emily Saniseng and winning 6-1. In no. 2 doubles, Greta Fankhauser and Hannah Giordanelli got the 6-3 win over Erika Jones and Gabrielle Davis. Camila Castro Medina and Ana Alvarez beat Lauren Adams and Jayden Vazquez in no. 3 doubles, 6-0.

Sterling continued to roll in the singles match ups. Alvarez took on Saniseng in the no. 1 singles match, getting the 6-1, 6-0 win. Margaritov saw similar success in the no. 2 match against Ground winning 6-0, 6-0.

Things got a little closer in the no. 3 singles match as Gaboardi beat Adams, 6-2, 7-5. In no. 4 singles, Giordanelli got the 6-1, 6-0 victory over Jones while Castro Medina beat Vazquez 6-1, 6-1 in the no. 5 singles match. Brooklyn Kuhn closed out the matches with a default win in the no. 6 singles contest.
