Lady Warriors compete at KCAC Fall Individual Championship

The Lady Warriors battled at the KCAC Fall Individual Championships hosted by Kansas Wesleyan University in Lindsborg, Kan. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 19-20.

Danna Arroyo represented the Lady Warriors in the no. 1 singles bracket and started off the day with an 8-2 win over the University of Saint Mary's Mia Rojas. However, her run in the bracket came to an end with an 8-5 loss to Rocio Espinal of Oklahoma Wesleyan University.

In the no. 2 singles bracket, Greta Fankhauser came up short against Maria Morgado of Evangel University with an 8-1 loss. She then lost her consolation match to Bethany College's Kyla Metro, 6-1.

Cylie LaTourell also had a tough match up in the opening round of the no. 3 singles tournament losing 8-4 to Kansas Wesleyan University's Rylee Frye. She then lost 6-1 to Lily Hopson of Avila University in the consolation match.

In doubles play, Arroyo and Fankhauser teamed up and got a round one win over Rojas and Shannon Finn of Saint Mary. However, the duo came up short against the eventual runners-up from Oklahoma Wesleyan, Ricio Lisette Espinal and Jewel Henderson, 8-4.

The Lady Warriors will be back in action at the ITA Regionals hosted in Salina, Kan. on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 26-27.
