Arroyo wins KCAC Invitational A Draw Division
The Lady Warriors finished out the fall tennis season at the KCAC Fall Invitational in North Newton, Kan. on Saturday, Oct. 11.
Danna Arroyo represented the Sterling in the A Draw, she started off the day with an 8-0 win over Karee Adam of Bethany College. In the second round, she defeated Charis Yager of Bethel College, 8-2. She went on to defeat Corina Salas of Kansas Wesleyan University, 8-2, to advance to the championship match where she faced Hayden Bellamy of Kansas Wesleyan. Arroyo won the championship game with a decisive 8-4 victory.
Greta Fankhauser also competed in the A Draw of the invitational. She lost the first match to Salas 8-0 but bounced back in the consolation bracket with an 8-2 win over Saint Mary's Arsys Rojas. Her time at the invitational was cut short with an 8-0 loss to Rylee Frye of Kansas Wesleyan.
Cylie LaTourell represented the Lady Warriors in the B Draw bracket. Her time in the tournament was short with an 8-4 loss to Elena Jundt of Bethany followed by an 8-2 loss to McKylie Cox of Evangel University.
The Lady Warriors will be back in action in the spring season.
