Warriors compete at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational
Sterling College men's cross country team secured an 11th-place finish at the Mamathama Rogers Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 13 in North Newton, Kan. On a wet and slippery course, sophomore Daryen Jefferson led the Warriors, crossing the line in 30:08.1 with freshman Jace Gaston right behind him with a 31:02.2.
Freshman Camryn Gantt ran a time of 33:19.3 and freshman Ian Chrisler crossed the line with a time of 35:13.8, while sophomore Wesley Brantley finished with time of 36:24.8. Despite the challenging competition, and tough conditions the Warriors showed promise with strong individual contributions, particularly from its underclassmen.
On the women's side, freshman Claire Miller ran a time of 23:39.8 followed by freshman Lydia Nelson who ran a time of 24:03.1. Sophomore Audrey Blake rounded out the field with a time of 31:30.4.
Sterling will be back in action at the Neosho Community College Invite on Friday, Oct. 3.
